![]() The performance rating urges you to stay on your toes and totally clicks with the splattering blood and dismemberment, and copious amounts of cursing give the action a very satisfying and engaging feel. Ballsy manual aiming is great for spraying large groups, while an easy and efficient lock-on system lets you go for different body parts on an individual target (the game lets you know if you're hitting arms, legs, and heads, right down to individual kidneys and right and left nuts). You're rewarded no matter how you go about your business. You'll get bigger balls-bonuses the more you maim, and writhing enemies appreciatively accept huge quantities of bullets in the name of balls and glory before they finally go down. Reason being, the game rewards you for your bold action (after all, nobody is going to stop shooting because you're talking) by filling up the circular and comically named "balls meter." When it's full, you're able to send Tony into a first-person "blind rage" where the screen flushes white, sounds are amplified, and bullets find their way into any target in range while a nonstop barrage of verbal abuse streams out of Tony's mouth. Every time you rip into someone with your weapon, you'll want to hit your taunt button to let the world know that you aren't to be messed with. Scarface starts off with a bang, starting you off with a stupidly loud and lethal M-16 to chew through your first fifty or sixty enemies. Does this reversal of fortune for Tony annihilate the moralistic message of the film? Given the fact that Tony is remembered more as a role model, not a cautionary example, and the film is a cult classic, not a classic-classic, who cares? Are we going to bury these f***ing cock-a-roaches or what? Taking Tony's destiny into your hands, you have the chance to cheat death and rebuild your empire from scratch through blood, sweat and tears - mostly other people's, although your suit is likely to be spattered and tattered far more often than it's in perfect working order. The game's opening moments are the climactic closing scenes of the film, just before Tony's life of violence and excess catches up with him. You'd think so, huh? In that case, as the iconic antihero Tony Montana once famously said: "Say hello to my little friend!" Scarface: The World is Yours is a ridiculously violent, unbelievably profane game that lets you glorify yourself with virtual millions of dollars in hard-earned drug money, fast cars, boats, underlings, women and copious amounts of blood. Didn't we already go on a violent rampage through a fictionalized 1980s Miami in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City? Besides, nobody really expects a movie-licensed game to turn out so well anyway. As a movie turned video game, Scarface had a lot to prove.
